Hope I’m catching you at a good start to your week. I want to share a few really neat career-related resources that you may consider today. First, the applications for the Penner Award are open until 9:00amET Nov 29. The Penner Award offers a stipend to juniors and seniors with financial need who are applying to unpaid internships. Find more information at one of their virtual info sessions on Nov 16 and on this page.
Second, the Virtual Immersion and Experiential Work Micro-Internship (VIEW) Program aims to provide students with opportunities to develop real world resume-building skills through short-term project work completed in a virtual environment. These paid “micro-internships” are up to 60 hours of work and will take place between January 3 – February 24. Applicants must submit an application by November 27.When you apply to a project, you are committing to working on this project, if selected. Apply to a maximum of three projects on Handshake under the employer, Georgetown VIEW Program. Attend a 20-minute virtual info session on Friday, Nov 18, at 12pm, to learn more about the program and how to make your application stand out. Below is a sampling of projects needing business-related skills.
- Business Development for IT Consulting Company
- Marketing and SEO for Parent-Travel Site
- Create and Update Cross-Cultural Training Content for Cultural Coach
- Research Fraud Prevention in Banking Industry
- Document and Operationalize Math Enrichment Program in School System
- Qualitative Research for Digital Insights Agency
- Business/Sales Development for Comedy Show
- Research and Business Writing for Music Production Company
