January 6, 2023 – Upcoming Events, Opportunities & Resources

From the Advisor:

Happy New Year Hoyas! I hope you had some time over the break to get in a little bit of rest, relaxation and some homemade food. I mean, Leo’s is alright and all, but I’m sure nothing beats some parental/grandparental cooking. Since we’re slowly getting back into the swing of things, this newsletter will be short and sweet.  A quick note is that our appointments (both in-person and virtual) will begin on January 10, 2023. Please check Handshake for available appointment times.

Until then, best of luck as you start the semester!

Books I’m Checking Out

While the beginning of classes brings on a reading list that is as long as my arm, I think it always good to read something “just for fun.” I currently have a half dozen or so books I am reading – depending on my hold status at the library. Reading more and scrolling social media less is one of my resolutions this year. Check out my current reads:

  1. A Detroit Anthology ed. Anna Clark
  2. Honor by  Thrity Umrigar
  3. The Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead
  4. Dorothy Day – The World Will be Saved by Beauty  by Kate Hennessy
  5. Empire of Grass by Tad Williams

Did any of you get some books as presents that you would recommend?
