Cawley Insider: Embracing diversity in the workplace

March 22, 2021 – Upcoming Events, Opportunities & Resources

Last week, the Cawley Career Education Center hosted its second annual Diversity Career Forum. This Forum was a week of events designed not only to bring together students, alumni, and employers who identify broadly as diverse, but to celebrate that diversity both at Georgetown and in the workplace.

It is within this context that we at Cawley continue to be horrified by recent and ongoing events and rhetoric aimed at Asians, Asian Americans and other people of color. We echo the sentiments of Georgetown’s President, John DeGioia: “We are called to be in solidarity with our Asian American students, faculty, and staff—to affirm our care and support for one another, and to continue our work, here at Georgetown, to sustain a community that is inclusive, welcoming, and respectful of people of all backgrounds.”

Hate has no place in the workplace, at Georgetown, or within our society.

Students of all identities are ALWAYS welcome in the Cawley Career Education Center. Please know we strive to be a place where all students can be themselves, no matter their identities. Know there are resources available to you (both general and career-related) if you need additional support.

If you need assistance or have questions, please feel free to email us at careercenter@georgetown.edu.
