Business Newsletter: Upcoming Events, Opportunities, and Resources
March 23, 2020
From the Advisor:
Congratulations to all of us for transitioning to and navigating an extremely different environment than we’ve been accustomed to. I don’t know about you but Zoom is basically my life now.
As we get ourselves back into the swing of things from the comfort of a desk, a kitchen table, or a couch (#guilty), I encourage you all to re-introduce some structure into your life. Here’s the thing – when you’re on campus, your mind is engaged in so many different ways. Your life was a mix of academics, extracurricular activities, social engagements, and the like. But now, you find yourself sitting in front of a screen for far longer than you’re used to, to take things in while staying connected with the world.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to develop a routine. Maybe it’s starting your day with prayer and meditation. For some, it could be closing the laptop and making lunch for yourself every day. I’ve been taking a long walk in the evenings to decompress (and so I don’t become one with my couch). Whatever it is, find some things that spark joy and help you regain normalcy; we have all been upended from what we know to some uncharted territories these days.
I don’t have many updates beyond what I shared last week on the recruiting front, so hang in there! Lots of companies are still getting their bearings and time will tell how this will affect available roles for the upcoming season. In the meantime, feel free to drop a line, stop by virtual drop-ins (1-3PM on weekdays), and/or make a Handshake appointment if you have any questions or need to talk.
Stay healthy and stay well.
