About Georgetown Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN):
During their time at Georgetown, nursing students have access to innovative classroom and clinical education; leading experiential learning facilities, including the Discovery Center and the O'Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center; diverse clinical sites; and avenues for research and scholarship. Nursing majors begin their clinical and practical coursework with patient contact in the first year of study. This hands-on clinical training intensifies as students enter their sophomore, junior, and senior years, totaling more than 900 clinical hours. Students complete clinical hours in courses such as public health nursing, health care of women, and mental health nursing.
Clinical Nurse Leader (MS):
Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies has launched a clinical nurse leader (CNL) concentration within its longstanding Master of Science (MS) Program in Nursing. The program is specifically designed for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in a field other than nursing for master’s-level entry into professional nursing practice. In addition to providing direct patient care, the CNL-prepared nurse assumes accountability for patient-care outcomes through the assimilation and application of evidence-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patient-care processes and models of care delivery. Georgetown’s CNL is a 24-month, six-semester (including two summer semesters), full-time program of study. The first five semesters take place on campus. The final semester consists of a CNL role immersion practicum.
At the 2017 Nursing Career Fair, each registered organization will be provided a standard, six-foot table, a table tent with your organization’s name, and two chairs. You will also have the opportunity to set up each table as you wish to represent your organization. There will be no electrical outlets available in the room. Due to space constraints, we can only accommodate a maximum of two representatives from each organization.
