Hello Hoyas!

Now is the time to jumpstart that job and internship search if you have not yet done so. The majority of jobs and internships will get posted now through May in the health and sciences industry. The article below shares five strategies to stay motivated. I have been asked, “How many job postings should I apply to?” To reinforce the article, I don’t recommend a target of applying to 100 internships or 3 postings a day.  Rather, broaden your search strategies to target organizations of interest and build relationships in those organizations (and beyond).

Personally, I often feel most energized to start work when I have an organizational structure in place to track my work.  Therefore, in addition to the great tips in this article, think about creating a job or internship search tracker. As one sample, try Airtable’s Job Hunting Template. I quickly created the below template using Airtable. Note: Be sure to include a link to the posting so you can reference it later if and when you get an interview, though, many links disappear so you may want to copy and paste the posting into a Google Doc. Whatever tools you use, create a structure that works with your style and push yourself out of your comfort zone and move beyond sitting behind a computer and applying to postings online.

All the best,
