Job Posting Policies

The Cawley Career Education Center welcomes a wide array of employers to participate in recruiting. Please note the following policies for posting jobs at Georgetown University.

  • You must use a physical street address (not a home address), a business phone number, a public website, and an official work email address (not a Gmail account or other publicly available email domain).
  • Your organizational practices should not conflict with Georgetown’s mission and values as a Catholic, Jesuit university.
  • Because Georgetown receives federal funding, we cannot approve positions related to the development, growth, testing, or distribution of cannabis or marijuana products.
  • Employers seeking to share part-time, short-term positions with flexible hours ought to post them through the Student Employment Office portal.
  • We do not allow brand ambassador positions from any organization to be posted in Handshake.
  • We do not allow multi-level marketing (MLM) organizations to recruit on campus for sales, customer/distributor service, or any other role that directly supports multi-level sales. We will not promote franchise opportunities as jobs or internships, and we do not permit direct or door-to-door sales companies to attend recruiting events.
  • Third-party recruiters must adhere to our third-party recruiting policies to engage with Georgetown students.
  • Organizations that require students to pay a fee to apply or participate in opportunities are not permitted to post positions on Handshake or recruit at Georgetown.
  • Graduate admissions programs are not permitted to post events on Handshake, table outside the center, or host events at the Cawley Career Education Center.
