Health & Science – Upcoming Events, Opportunities, and Resources

FROM THE ADVISOR:

Hello Hoyas!

As mentioned in a previous newsletter, most application timelines for the health and science industry start in early Spring. Generally, the exception is health and life science consulting, rotational leadership development programs (sample employers here), and fellowships. If you are interested in a fellowship or internship program after graduation, my recommendation is to start identifying programs and track application deadlines now. Most deadlines are between now and the end of February.

Two popular programs, Peace Corps Advancing Health Professionals (6-12 months, apply by position) and NIH IRTA post-bac program have rolling applications. NIH recommends applying 6 months prior to your preferred start date. Of course, there are an abundance of service programs to consider if you are seeking a short–term work experience post-graduation, including Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Peace Corps, City Year, AmeriCorps, and many more.

All the best,
