Pre-Law – Upcoming Events, Opportunities and Resources

FROM THE ADVISOR:
The pre-law advisor is out sick! That means open office hours today (Thursday, Oct. 12) are canceled. Hopefully Andrea will make her triumphant return to Cawley in time for office hours and appointments on Monday, Oct. 16. Until then, peruse this newsletter valiantly drafted from her sick bed and feel free to think good thoughts.

American Bar Association Disclosures

Law schools are required to disclose a number of statistics to the
American Bar Association. These statistics can be helpful when making
a school list or choosing which school to attend.

509 reports include demographic info, cost of attendance, and scholarship numbers. Employment outcomes are divided by sector and also feature the top three geographic destinations for graduates. Bar passage compares how graduates perform against state averages. All of this info is free and publicly available

See the ABA Disclosures page here (new window).

LGBTQIA+ History Month, celebrated each year in October, highlights and celebrates the history and achievements of LGBTQIA+ people. Throughout October, we’re reminded of the long legal and political history that has afforded (almost) equal rights to LGBTQIA+ persons.

The Cawley Career Center invites you to explore the resources below in celebration of LGBTQIA+ History Month and the contributions of LGBTQIA+ persons.

A Brief History of the Path to Securing LGBTQ Rights
American Bar Association, Jon W. Davidson
