Connect with Alumni
Many of you have heard about the importance of networking to find jobs and internships, which often brings your next question to be, “But I don’t know people in the U.S., who do I network with?” There are many ways to find professionals to speak with as outlined in this article. We recommend starting with fellow Hoyas; and better yet, fellow Hoyas who were also once international students like you. See our networking page to learn tips on how to successfully navigate the networking process.
Once registered, you can access “Browse Alumni” and in “More Filters” choose the “Yes” button to answer the question: “During your time as a student at Georgetown, were you an international student in the U.S. on an F-1 Visa?” This will allow you to browse, view and contact a variety of alumni who were international students at Georgetown.
International Students LinkedIn Group
Join the Georgetown International Students & Scholars LinkedIn group. You can message anyone directly in this group for free once you become a member.
Interstride provides a networking feature that allows you to search other Interstride users by school, major, countries, etc. Find and connect with Georgetown alumni (and other international alums) and join topical groups, such as STEM careers and startups, to build your network.
