Welcome Back!!

We are so excited to see Hoyas back on campus, in person! It really is great to see and feel the energy on the Hilltop. We hope you feel as happy as Jack running in front of Healey Hall. 

But of course, with school comes recruiting, which is where the Cawley Career Center comes in. If you are new to the recruiting process or just want to figure out your next steps, we are the place to go. 

We offer many services, including career counseling (what do I want to be when I grow up?), industry advising (how do I find a job in the federal government?), resume reviews, cover letter assistance, interview prep, career fairs, and much more. But where to start?
How To Start at the Cawley Career Education Center – a Step-by-Step Guide
1. Log into Handshake. Handshake is our job portal, our appointment scheduler, and our event RSVP system. All Hoyas are automatically set up with an account. To login, simply go to georgetown.joinhandshake.com and use your NetID and regular password to log in.
ProTip: Looking for internships or jobs? You can set up an automatic job search (new window) and then have Handshake alert you to opportunities as they are posted. Why should you do all the work? Make Handshake work for you. 

2. Read Our Industry Newsletters. While all students are automatically opted in to our General Newsletter (this one that you are reading now) you can also receive industry-specific newsletters with more focused information. Go here (new window) to sign up for any or all.

3. Come to a Drop-in. Need a quick resume review? Not sure where to start with the carer center? Come to an in-person drop-in! We host drop-ins Monday – Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. We are located in the Leavey across from the bookstore. 

We are here to help no matter where you are on your career journey. Please drop by and say hi. But until then, enjoy your time back on campus and Hoya Saxa!

Virtual Drop-Ins:
New drop-in hours for spring semester!
Drop-ins will now be available (new window) from 9-10AM Tuesday through Friday, 1-2PM Monday through Friday, and 7-8PM Monday through Thursday every week. 

Appointments: Virtual appointments are available via Handshake (new window). Sign up under ‘Career Center,’ then ‘Appointments’, then ‘Industry Advising,” then ‘Government, Nonprofit, and Education’.
