Law School Application Timeline

Spring of Your Application Year

• Register for the LSAT
• Consider beginning your LSAT studies

Summer of Your Application Year

• Create an LSAC.org account
• Take the LSAT
• Register with the Law School Admission Council’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS)
• Contact references and request letters of recommendation
• Schedule an appointment with your pre-law advisor for summer or early fall

September Through Early December of Your Application Year

• Take or retake the LSAT if necessary
• Send your transcripts to CAS
• Write your personal statement and other application essays, paying close attention to the specific requirements of each law school
• Attend law school admissions events on Georgetown’s campus and virtually
• Complete and submit your law school applications, ideally by the end of November
